Slightly more than a week ago, I met up with Wai Li, Fui Wei, Jean and Ken at Pavilion...Wai Li had been bugging me for more than a week that she wanted to meet up before I left and although I wasn't too enthusiastic about the idea - don't get me wrong - I was quite busy preparing for my departure! - I agreed at last, since she also said she, along with Fui Wei, wouldn't be around soon after as they would be going back to Kuantan...And Jean would be leaving on September 16 - today! - so yeah, I met up with them all...
Upon reaching Pavilion, we noticed this exhibition that Hewlett Packard was having to promote its latest notebooks...They were having this little SMS thingy going on, whereby you SMS to them and if you receive a reply saying "Congratulations, you won ..." you get to take part in this lucky draw and win stuff...All of us sent that SMS and we all went back home with a little something...Haha...Ken and Fui Wei even took part in a chess competition - you play it on the laptop! - and naturally, Ken beat Fui Wei, though it took Jean and myself to make him realise he has checkmated Fui Wei's king...Haha...They each won a bag of goodies as well...
Had something to eat at this place of which its name just escapes me at the moment...Haha...Food was alright, and the ladies treated me...Haha...And then out came something I wasn't expecting - a present! Haha...Thanks guys for the scarf! That's really thoughtful of you - Russia is after all pretty well known for its extreme winters...
After that we went over to the cinema to watch a movie...As we were looking at the time listings, this middle-aged man approached us and told us how he has vouchers for free movie passes but he can't use them as they are for adults and he can't redeem them for his young kids...So he asked us if we could use the vouchers and then pay him back at a reduced rate than what the tickets would normally cost...Well, it was a deal and each of us ended up saving RM2...Haha...
Watched Death Race with them...I had already watched it before but didn't mind watching it again...As I said in a previous update, the movie is pretty good...And I noticed some minor stuff that I missed the first time I watched it...Anyway, we called it a day after that, and I headed over to Times Square to collect my salary from Baskin Robbins and to also buy a Russian language audio book, so that I could learn some basic stuff on my own...
Went to Saisaki last Saturday with Hein Yew, Hui Ling, Mei Funn, Ken Lee, Pey Min, Deric and Melissa...It was a celebration of sorts - it was for Hui Ling - her birthday was a couple of days earlier! - and for the three of us who were leaving the country soon - Ken Lee, Pey Min and I...
Picked up Hein Yew from his place before heading over to Hui Ling's place to pick her up...Picked up Mei Funn from the Maluri LRT Station...Reached the area about an hour earlier - we were anticipating roadblocks as word out on the streets were that there would be street rallies due to the ISA arrests...But we ended up reaching the area an hour earlier! So we headed over to Pavilion and walked around for awhile before heading back to Saisaki...
That was my first time there and seriously, the quantity of dishes available just blew me away...Haha...Seriously, there were so many types of food available for eating, and trying to eat them all is just plain impossible! In the end, I just ate what I could, which was pretty little...I mean, sushi is my favourite Japanese food and almost all the sushi out there comes with rice, which is pretty filling...As expected Hein Yew was one of the biggest eaters, whilst Hui Ling ate the least...Haha...Saw the irony? I shall leave you to your imaginations to figure out what I mean then...Haha...
By the way Hui Ling and Hein Yew, despite being the only non-SABian amongst those who came, I actually felt pretty welcome there...Doesn't happen always, even when around other people...Thanks!
I've gotta say that it feels kinda weird knowing that I will be leaving in about a week's time...I feel kinda insecure knowing that I will be all alone - well, Ken will be around as well, but like me, it's his first time too! - in some foreign country that happens to have the most "friendliest" locals - Russians...Maybe I'm feeling a little nervous but I'm sure I'll be able to deal with it...Well, hopefully...Haha...
